Artist's Statement:

This body of work deals with the subject of wattle. It continued my interest in working with the colour relationship of black and yellow. Energy is the underlying element within this body of work. I was interested in building up layers of yellow to create a sense of packed in energy. The wattle as subject matter is not only a national symbol but also a visual that can be explored in an abstract way. I enjoy the optimism and promise that it offers as a visual and I have explored this body of work with this in mind.
