Stan Florek
Seeds are the Particles of the Sun, tiny packets of yellow energy encased in starchy nutritious vaults by the laborious process of assimilation and life taking care of its own uncertain future. Thrown to the wind and cold, to birds and rodents, to floods and concrete highways they survive somehow, always nursing in their minute white wombs a promise of germination. Seeds are an embodiment of our dependence on nature. As long as we are here we will support each other, for somewhere in the deep recesses of cosmic design we were given Parallel Destinations.
Sydney poet, visual artist and archaeologist works in various media. His favourite are oil paints, pastels, etchings, drawing with charcoal and photography. Stan’s works grow from curiosity about and affinity with different people, landscapes and cultures. The effect of nature fascinates him as much as the drama of human existence. His artworks reflect these unrelenting interests and are lyrical rather than didactic, held in private collections including Peru, Germany, Poland and Japan.
