In Australia almost any plant I knew from home (that is Germany) is considered to be a weed. So I thought about how we, this intelligent species, not only mess up our planet with all the poisons and machinery we’ve got, but just by planting seeds into soil which don’t belong there.
We are the soil providing sustenance for other life forms. Will we breathe out Geraniums or could we grow Orchids in our hearts?
German born artist, graduated in Public Art at the Bauhaus University, Weimar, Germany in 2003.
One of her first works after arriving in Australia was a large wall design at Eden Gardens in Sydney called “Pregnant Plants”. Working with oil sticks she is not afraid of filling a ballroom with 27 trees, as recently in the Carrington Hotel Katoomba. This is her 4th year in Australia where she also found her husband and family and she enjoys living in the Blue Mountains with its inspirational climate and nature.
